American Handgunner's Ralph Mroz Praises "Law of Self Defense, 2nd"

Hey folks,

Just a brief post here to note, with appropriate humility, some kind words by well-respected trainer Ralph Mroz, who writes regularly for American Handgunner magazine.

In their most recent issue, that for May/June 2015, Ralph writes a column entitled “10 Things Most Gun Owners Do Wrong.” The whole list is a good read, and it’s embedded below, but it’s point number four that’s relevant to this post.

4. They don’t know the law. I recently taught a seminar on the law of deadly force. I asked the 30 people in the room how many carried a gun for self-defense, and 90 percent raised their hand. I then asked how many had training in when, and under what circumstances, they were justified in using their gun in a defensive situation. No one raised their hand.

In a side photo for the piece is shown the cover of “The Law of Self Defense, 2nd Edition,” with the copy:

Andrew Branca’s The Law of Self Defense is back in print with tables for all 50 states. This is the best resource on the market. You are, to be blunt, a fool if you don’t know this material.

Thanks, Ralph! 🙂

And here’s the whole piece, as promised:

  1. I just finished reading “The Law of Self Defense”; 2nd Ed. It was a great read, very authoritative, scholarly, relevant, and informative. It’s very well written and understandable for the lay person. Anyone that carries a weapon should read this book.Thank you Andrew Branca.
