Happy Birthday, John Moses Browning: 162 Years Young

Today is the birthday of John Moses Browning.  If you don’t know that name–well, feel ashamed, then go Google it.

Next year I’ll do a longer post on good old JMB myself, but this year I’m rushed, so I’ll defer to some very nice stuff that Tam wrote:

We’re talking about the dude who patented the concept of the SLIDE on autoloading pistols. The guy who pretty much invented gas-operated automatic weapons. The man who made the first practical and commercially successful self-loading shotgun.
